How to locate a prisioner

3 simple steps

1. After you’ve found out that you think your loved one has been arrested you can contact the local police and inquire. It’s as simple as asking if they have that person in custody there and if not there where?

2. If they have been moved to a facility your best bet is contacting prisioner locations on 03 8684 6600

they often want to know your relation to the prisoner   and can be a little cadgey if you don’t have any luck don’t worry there are more options.

3. You can send a letter to

Prisoner's first name and surname]
c/- Corrections Victoria
GPO Box 123
Melbourne VICTORIA 3001
AUSTRALIA

Hint

When you find them you can do some helpful things.

if there in the cells you can take them a change of clothes each day they remain there. It can also be helpful to include a note with important  with Contact numbers they might need like there lawyers or partners for later on.

If they are at the map for the first 7 days anyone with photo id can take in clothes that they are able to take with them as they progress through the system.

also letters can be dropped in the little red mail box inside any prison as long as you have the right details on the envelope
